We invite you to attend the
152nd Van Wert County Fair
August 27-September 3, 2008!
Food, entertainment, rides, games,
exhibits, animals, horse racing,
camping...fun for everyone!
Fair endowments are permanent funds made possible through individual donations, business, corporate,
service organization contributions, and fund raising events.
Principal is invested permanently though the Van Wert County Foundation to generate the maximum
interest possible. The interest income is returned to the Van Wert County Agricultural
Society to fund programs and permanent improvement projects for the betterment and advancement of the
Van Wert County Fair.
Why is it necessary to have the Van Wert County Fair
Endowment Fund?
The Van Wert County Agricultural Society is privately owned. The
purchase of a membership certificate prior to the annual fair entitles you to membership in the society.
Operating monies come in several different forms. Funding comes from the fair and other events held on the
fairgrounds during the year. We also receive some funding from the Van Wert County Commissioners and from
the Ohio Department of Agriculture. Even with these sources, additional financial resources are needed to
maintain the fairgrounds and support the Van Wert County Fair.
Who benefits from the Van Wert
County Fair Endowment Fund?
With the rising costs of maintaining
the present grounds and buildings,
and to build future facilities, and
to make further permanent
improvements to the grounds,
additional funding is always needed
and appreciated.
Adults and children involved in the
following fair events benefit from
monies allocated:
Fair Entertainment of all kinds
Junior Fair & Senior Fair Premiums
Junior Fair Livestock Sale High School Band Show
Cheerleading Invitational
Who should consider making a
contribution to the Van Wert County
Fair Endowment Fund?
Do you have fond memories of past
Van Wert County Fairs? Have you
participated in past Van Wert County
Fairs? Would like to personally be
responsible for helping to keep this
great tradition alive for future
generations? Anyone who appreciates
the fair and would like to be a part
of its future might consider a gift
to the fund.
Who manages the monies of the Van
Wert County Fair Endowment Fund?
The Van Wert County Foundation
oversees the monies or property of
the Endowment Fund and distributes
earned interest to the Van Wert
County Agricultural Society to be
used for the betterment of the Van
Wert County Fair. In the event that
the Van Wert County Agricultural
Society would cease to exist, the
fund would be dispersed at the
discretion of the foundation.
